Clean & Simple

Oh well, another post for tonight....this is for the Clean & Simple Challenge 117.  Have you visited this blog before?  If you haven't, I invite you to pass by.  I really liked it and therefore, decided to play along. This is the sketch provided and my card following it....I hope you like it.  This is to start of with the Christmas cards for this year.

Summer Escape

Hi ya!!

Between all this madness of sickness going on, I managed to create the silhouette assigned to me which I enjoyed much workin with.

Very simple, a 1-photo sketch, that could be the starting point for your own version. Yes, that is what we want you to do. You don't have to stick to the silhouette given.....this is just for fun, and in most cases you start and your own creativity just flows.

This is my take on Silhouette 20 at Scrappin Silhouettes.

We want YOU to come and play with us and show us your LO too.....so come on, you have until next Tuesday to upload your work.  Join us at Scrappin' Silhouettes each week with a new sketch....you'll love it!!

See ya' next week.....enjoy your weekend!!

Another Scrappin Silhouette

Happy Thursday everyone!!

Another silhouette to inspire you......yes, today you have another silhouette to help you start a new creation. This is a 3-picture silhouette, and this time we used circles. Circles here and there....this was so much fun! Here is my take on the sketch.

Take a look at what my fellow designers at Scrappin'Silhouettes did.....oh my God, these ladies are super dooper talented. You won't want to miss their work. And remember that you have until next Tuesday at 6PM to upload yours. We love to see what you do!!

October-Breast Cancer Awareness Month

I'm sipping a cup of coffee, watching the wonderful news of the rescue that's taking place in Chile....OMG, this is wonderful...at last they're out!!

My post today is a card that I did to serve as inspiration for a challenge that I've posted on a FB group that I created a year and so ago, when I started scrapbooking and cardmaking, This group's name is Scrappin Buddies....yes, because it was created with the intention of gathering all my buddies that scrap together and post our work, tutorials, and any ideas, so we could share is with other people that like this hobby as much as we do. And within a year and couple of months we already are 86 members.....woohhooo!!

This is the card and the challenge is to create a card, using pink tones, with the Breast Cancer symbol in any embellishment you pick....ribbon, buttons, brads, eyelets, flowers, etc. Then, you should think in your family and friends, and dedicate this card to any survivor or patient of this terrible disease.

The stamp used is in the August KOM of Unity.

If you want to join us, you are more than welcome. Just click "attend" in the event page and upload your card with a brief sentence telling us who is this card for and in which way you are related. This challenge is due on October 31st, so you still have some time to do something beautiful for that special person.

Happy Wednesday everyone!!

Growing in Unity-Day 1

Hi there:

I know it's been quite a while since my last post, and I have no excuse, but I have been really hectic these past weeks.

Today I come back with Growing in Unity. Have you seen their stamps? I just love'em!! Slowly but surely, I have become their fan,and this week I will be creating some cards with these fabulous stamp sets I get from their Kit of the Month Club. For this card I used the June 2010 kit {fly....free}.

Come back tomorrow for another inspiring creation and don't forget to leave a comment. It can give you a chance to win a stamp set from Unity.

Silhouette Thusrsday

Woohooo....another Thursday and another silhouette. Yeap.....it's Silhouette 13 and even if you believe me or not, I still have New Years 2010 pictures to scrap with. Don't you? Well in fact, I still have some from 2009!!

This silhouette gave me inspiration to scrap some pictures of New Years Eve, and I took from my paper stash paper I had precisely for these pictures. Here is the silhouette and my take on it.

Remember, if you want to play along with us, just create a LO using the silhouette as a point to start of, and make your own. You only have to link it by next Tuesday before 6PM on your blog with a link back to Scrappin' Silhouettes. You can be the winner of the week.....and you will be participating in the month's draw also.

Unity Addicts Challenge

Yay....how are ya? It's been a week since my last post, but here I am again. This time I'll share with you a new adventure.

Today I'm featured at the UNITY blog.....wooohooo!!! Thanks María for this opportunity.

Every week, Unity has the
Growing in Unity and the Unity Addicts Wednesday.
This week's Growing in Unity gal is Nora Anne. and she will have inspiration for you all week long. Be sure to stop by Nora Anne's blog for lots of ideas!

Last month, I happened to share an idea for a challenge in the forum and María just loved it!! I had seen this challenge before and I thought it would be very interesting.

Well, today, I share the challenge with all of you. There is a B-I-N-G-O grid that you must use to create your card or LO. Here is what I came up with, following the 1st row across.

I used peach, bling, border, 2 patterned papers, and glitter. Of course, stamping has to be included. You may either use Unity or {ippity} images. The buttons and the journal frame are part of the August KOM....I've used almost all the stamps from that kit....I loved it!!

Be sure to swing on by the Unity Challenges Forum to play along this week. There is a chance at an awesome Unity Kit for one random player!

If you have a challenge idea we want to hear it, come by this thread to let us know. Maybe you will be the next Unity Addict Challenge Guest!!

Little Things Make Me Happy

Hi ya!!!

Tuesday night, thinking the deadline was August 31st, I did this card to play in a challenge hosted by RJ Avery over at Scraps of Color.

For some reason I couldn't post the sketch......I'm a little bit dummy when it comes to technology. Of course you can look at it here, and this is the card I submitted for the challenge. The image and sentiment I used is from Unity's August KOM....geee, I loved this kit.

I hope you all enjoy your Labor Day weekend....as for me I am almost ready to start the journey for this long weekend. Take care and be safe!!

Earl is gone!!

Good Morning:

As you all may know, I live in the Caribbean, in the beautiful island of Puerto Rico. This season is nerve-wracking for us because we're exposed to all those storms and hurricanes that come out of Africa. Yesterday, we were expecting Earl, a Category 4 hurricane that is right know passing through the north coast of the island. I left the house in the morning and at lunch time I was already back. Classes were dismissed and all the Government Agencies closed to be able to prepare just in case Earl would bring us problems such as floods. Thanks God, it's gone and everything should be going back to normal, unless Fiona, another tropical storm that is behind, gets here before we can even blink. This was enough reason to sit and create. I received my Unity August KOTM "All you need......" yesterday and guess what? I loved it!! So I did a couple of cards.
I hope you enjoy them and give you some inspiration.

For this card I used a new border punch I got from Martha Stuart and I even glued the pieces that were cut from the loops.

I layered the hearts in this card in three heights, using pop-ups.

And finally, for this one I used a few phrases of the kit to form the message and stamped it in Not quite Navy, one of the new colors from Stampin' Up!

Embellish Quirky, Cutesy, Clean Color Challenge

Hi there:

Here again....I had a couple of days with no posts, due to many, many things that come up at the last minute, and change all your plans. Anyway, I couldn't let pass the Embellish Quirky, Cutesy, Clean Color Challenge.

I really enjoy these color challenges, and this one had colors I love....sea foam, craft, peach and cream. This challenge was sponsored by Lawn Fawn stamps which will give the winner a $25 gift certificate. After the challenge ends, the design team will select six designers who created hot projects to highlight. The designers will be highlighted in a blog posting. Isn't this fun?

Below you will see the card I did for this challenge. I had this punch from Stampin'Up I had never used, so I thought it would be a great opportunity to do something with it.

Let's see if I can do a couple of more things......oh my gosh I love to do this!!

Friday, August 20, 2010

Good Morning:

It's a new week and a new sketch at Scrappin Silhouettes. We also have a Guest Designer, Anita, who's from Sweden, who played along with us with silhouette 9. This is the silhouette Jennifer has for us this week:

This quarter of a circle backround gave me an idea to make a "sun" to be able to scrap some of the photos I took during my short summer vacations. Here is my take on the silhouette, which by the way, was so much fun to do.

Happy Friday to all....and remember, you're invite to play with us at Scrappin Silhouettes. All you have to do is create a LO following the provided silhouette and link it before next Tuesday. We would also love you share your comments and thoughts on the layouts posted in the page. So come on, and let us see what you do.

Yay!!

Good Morning:

I'm focused on learning to use my COPICS and not until I reach that goal I'm going to look a different way.

Yesterday I took my markers to school and had the Art teacher try to help me out, but we didn't get a nice colored image.

When I came home I sat down to watch some YouTube videos on how to color and blend using the COPIC markers. Of course I had to practice, so I had bought some digi images online from All that Scraps and I printed some out and started practicing what I had learned on these videos. The sentiment is from the stamp of the month set I received from the {stamps} of life by Stephanie Barnard, trees2build #12.

I know I still have to improve but to be honest, I think these online lessons helped a lot.
Oh, I have to show you this card. I colored Cocoa, the mascot of Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, and look!!

Give me your opinion. You probably have the expertise I need and can help me by chipping in with some ideas.

Color Me Creative Challenge

Hi there:

Wooo...I'm exhausted. So much heat in Puerto Rico!! While I watch a baseball game, BTW, I'm a NYY fan.....GO YANKEES!!! I sat down and did my first card using a digi I printed out to use in a challenge of Color Me Creative Classroom. Have you been to that blog? You are able to take online classes to help you improve your coloring skills using COPICS.

My first challenge there has to have green grass colored or drawn, of course using the COPIC markers. I have to be honest, I think it'll take me some time to improve my coloring skills. I have never been good at that, and I don't seem to get the idea. Let's see what happens. Keep visiting my blog to see the evoultion of my coloring skills, because I am positive I'll improve.....SOMEDAY....jajaja!!!

For this card I used Card Patterns Sketch #75

and the Digi image I downloaded from All That Scraps. This is my card. I just hope you can see the details on the coloring....I know I HAVE to learn more on how to use these markers. But, there's the green grass. Enjoy!!

I Thought of You

Hi there: This is my second and last post for the day.....it wasn't easy being passive during all those days when I was laying in bed all day. So I think I'm making up for it now. This card is going to play in two challenges: The Card Positioning System #179

and in Stacey's Stamping Stage Color Challenge Act 42

It was very easy to combine both challenges, since I had the sketch and the colors to use. I only had to think a little to come up with something, and here it is. I embossed the peach panel with my Cuttlebug Embossing folder, used the Scalloped Trim border from SU and the image and sentiment is from Unity's June KOTM {fly....free}.

Bye, ENJOY YOUR WEEKEND.....'til next week!!

Remember when....

Good Morning:

I had said last night I wouldn' t even look at the computer so I didn't get carried away by instinct and start browsing my favorite blogs, and wandering all day through many hot places I like to look at, but I couldn't.

I had pending to do the 2 picture layout corresponding to silhouette 8 at Jennifer Lowery's Scrappin Silhouettes blog. This is the silhouette and my take on it. I really enjoyed doing it and I hope you like it!!

I love to read all your comments and suggestions, because I feel that I can learn something form everyone I share my work with. Happy Friday and start enjoying your weekend.

I'm back!!

After almost two weeks, I'm back!! I was hospitalized with the mosquito virus and had to be away for a couple of days. I am very glad to be able to post something after a "mandatory break".

Now that I feel a little bit better, I started getting crafty again, I did this LO for Jennifer Lowery's Scrappin Silhouettes.

Did you know we want to see you play with us? Yeah, you can play along every week using the silhouette posted in the blog every Thursday. You only have to let us see your creation by linking it to the blog by next Tuesday at 6pm. Every week a random winner is chosen, and the winners of every week go to a drawing at the end of the month for some nice prizes. So, are you ready??

For this layout I used the colors of Color Combos Galore Inspiration 154 and look what I came up with:

So, now it's your turn.....go to it and have some fun.

The Jazz Messengers

OMG!!! Third post....it will be the last for the day. This is the card I created for Tenia Nelson's Jazzy Paper Design. Inspiration for Challenge 11 is the CD Cover of Art Blakey's album "The Jazz Messengers". Tenia also included a sketch on this one.

Have a great weekend and enjoy safely.

Create with Connie & Mary Inspiration Challenge 109

This is my second post of the day. It is my first visit to this blog, Create with Connie and Mary, and I haaaad to play.

I love these colors, and WOW, I loved the DT's creations....they are absolutely gorgeous. This was the inspiration and below of it you'll find my card.

Keep having a wonderful Friday.

Color Combos Galore

Good Morning:

TGIF!! Another week that goes by....it's amazing how fast these two months of June & July have finished.....AND MY VACATIONS TOO....ughrrr!!!

Well, but such is life. My card today is for the Color Combos Galore Challenge #153

This is a fun challenge because it combines colors and they always have a twist to it. In this one the focus is on typography. My inspiration for this challenge is BABY, because two of my lifetime friends have become grandmas this month: Doris to a BABY boy and Marie to a BABY girl. Congrats to both on my behalf!!

Enjoy your day!!

Fun in the Sun

Hi.....I'm back from my small vacations. I really had some time off to share with family & friends, and to celebrate my hubby's birthday. Woooohhooo, he turned 50!! We had a small surprise party, which was a REAL surprise to him because we sang to him a couple of days prior to his real birth date. Its said that this can bring bad luck, but we don't believe in bad luck, so we just went ahead and it was really fun.

Well now on to my layout. This was my double page layout for this weeks sketch over at Scrappin Silhouttes. Jenniffer has posted Silhouette #6 so you can play along and show us what you came up with.

Remember, you can give it a twist and your personal touch. The silhouette is given so you can have a starting point, but you can interpret it in any way. You have a week to create your layout, just be sure to link your project by Tuesday at 6pm.

Let's see what you come up with.....enjoy!!

Embellish Color Challenge/Crazy4Challenges 46

This will be my last post for this week. I'll be away for a few days so I hope you enjoy.

This layout combines the Color Challenge and Ric Rac from Embellish Magazine and the Crazy 4 Challenges C4C46.

I followed the sketch from
Scrapping Silhouettes 5. This was much fun to do. Have a nice weekend.
