Growing in Unity-Day 5

Happy Friday to all!!

Today is day #5 and my final day as a GIU Gal for now. Good things must come to an end.

Yesterday, my card's theme was St. Valentine.  Today I also made something related to it.  I used stamps from 2 KOM's.  The heart image in the front panel is from the August 2010 KOM {all you need....}.  For the sentiment I combined the first part of the message in one stamp included in this same set and one in the May 2010 KOM {..... a little happy}.  I decided to omit the last word of the phrase and add the word LOVE and that's how I got my message to read "sending you a little LOVE", which BTW, it's in the inside panel of the card.

I used my Cuttlebug hearts embossing folder for the front red panel, the pattern paper and the ribbon is from Stampin'Up and added a button for a little detail.  I gave it a bit of dimension, by popping up the center panel.

Well I hope you like it and have enjoyed this week in GIU as much as I have.  Remember to leave your comments for a chance to win a FREE stamp set from Unity, that I will randomly pick among all of you who have left me some love this entire week.

Keep visiting my blog for some more interesting projects.  ENJOY YOUR WEEKEND!!!

Growing in Unity-Day 4

Wooohhoooo!!.....The FUN & EXCITEMENT continues today during my fourth day as a GIU gal.  I love what I did for you today.  St Valentines is just around the corner.  We already see all the decoration, plush animals, flowers, cards, etc. etc. in stores so, why not start creating for that day?

I came up with this center fold card, using two stamp sets.  The love birds stamp are in the July 2010 KOM {Happily Ever After....) and the sentiment stamp is from the October 2010 KOM {take time to laugh....}.  The patterned paper I used is from Cosmo Cricket and for the scalloped circle I used a Spellbinders die.  I stamped the image and sentiment with Stampin' Up's Cherry Cobbler.

Stay tuned for more tomorrow during my final day as a GIU gal.  Remember to leave me your lovely comments for a chance to win a FREE stamp set from Unity, randomly chosen at the end of the week.   Enjoy your Thursday!!

Growing in Unity and Unity Addicts Wednesday

Hello there!!

Today is Wednesday......another Growing in Unity and Unity Addicts day.....I have to admit I'm soooooo excited.....yes, yes yes!!

Let me first share a little story.  When I first read about Growing in Unity I really got interested in being part of it.  Unity and their host MarĂa Levine gives us scrappers or cardmakers, the opportunity of showing other stamp addicts like us, our creations, and I truly understand that this chance is unique.  I use Unity stamps anyway, besides I am also an {ippity} Chick, so this is a perfect way of sharing my work and my blog with others.  Thank you both.

Today's card is one that I will send  to my parents, who shared 13 days with me and my family during Christmas. But to be honest, I really know there's nothing like being HOME, and that's the theme of the card.  The stamp set used for this card was HONEY, I'M HOME from Bella BLVD, and added one stamp from House a Home and one from the KOM of March/09.  I colored the house using COPICS and Stampin'Up markers and popped up the house and the sentiment with dimensionals.  Again in this card I used some patterened paper that happen to go perfectly with the theme.  Here you have it.....I hope you like it.

Remember to leave me your comments and be back tomorrow and Friday.  At the end of the week I'll randomly pick a person that will win a FREE stamp set from Unity....it might be you......enjoy your day!!

Growing in Unity-Day 2

Hi:  I'm here again with another inspiring card using the Unity stamps.....woooohhooooo!!  I loved doing this one too!!  This time I used a stamp set called TREASURE TO ME.  I continued the girlie theme, with this stamp.  I paper pieced the dress and purse, I used Stickles for the beads in the necklace, and to finish the details, I colored with Stampin Up markers the ribbon and flowers in the hat, shoes and hat box.  I added some flowers as a finishing touch.

And here's the card:

Remember that at the end of my week in GIU I will randomly pick a person from all the comments  and the winner will receive a Unity stamp set FREE.  So leave me your love and you might be the lucky one.

Growing in Unity-Day 1

Welcome to Growing in Unity Day 1.....yes , I'll be inspiring you all week long with the Unity Stamps.......OMG, I love 'em.

Today, for my first project, I used a stamp from the October KOM, Take Time to laugh.....I loved those purses. I heat embossed the image and the sentiment, then detailed the purses with Stamping Up markers.  I also used some patterned paper I had with purses, and some ribbon and brads.  I kept it very simple.

Don't forget to come by tomorrow.  I'll have another inspiring project for you.  Remember to leave a comment every day this week because at the end of the week I will pick a random winner that will win a set of Unity stamps.  Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day.

New Year, New Habits

Hello to all of ya!!

I haven't posted since LAST YEAR....bad girl, shame on me!!  Well all this of me moving to another house in the middle of December, hasn't been very easy.  So I decided to sip my cup of coffee, while I begin writiing in my blog EVERY MORNING starting this 2011.

I really think this is something mostly everyone says:  "Starting January I'm going to.........".  Doesn't this frase sound familiar to you?  And years come and go and we are still trying and trying to keep up our commitments.   Of course, I'm not different.  Every single year I buy myself an agenda.  At the beginning, everything seems to work perfect.  I write in the things I have to accomplish throughout the day, but as the days go by, I start forgetting, first to write, and if I do, I forgert to scratch off what I have done.

So, again I bought myself an agenda for 2011, which I'm carrying in my purse all the time,  I will start dieting on Jan 16 after my last Christmas party is over (Christmas in PR is not finished until almost the third week in January, for those of you who don't know) and I will create something to post EVERY morning on my blog.....PROMISED!!

Now, I want to show you the ONLY 3 cards I was able to make during Christmas.  My husband needed 3 postcards for his 2 daughters and his son, and I said:  Why buy them if I can make them?  Here they are.

The first 2 I wrote Spanish sentiments and the 3rd one I did in English.  Hope you get inspired by them.  Bye.
